In 1992, former Salisbury University student Paul Hallam collected folk material. His collection focuses on the consumption of alcohol in college. He believed that one reason students drink alcohol is to socialize better by reducing their "inhibitions", an analysis that was confirmed by his four interviewees who also shared their experiences.
